Leads as director of nursing department’s activities, also ensuring the nursing team fulfills scheduling and administrative tasks promptly for efficiency and organization.
Complies with requirements of the Company and ensures that services are provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and agency policy.
Interprets and implements policies and procedures of the agency and oversees the selection, development, and monitoring of nursing staff.
Directs the supervision and evaluation of all personnel who provide direct patient care and directs all human resource issues related to nursing and allied health services personnel, including recruitment, performance evaluations, disciplines, and terminations.
Upholds compliance and steps in as office administrator alongside the pharmacy manager when needed. Additionally, acts as the Medicare-defined Administrator or Director of Nursing and oversees infection prevention, ensuring adherence to relevant standards.
Maintains professional nursing standards across all caregiving activities.
Supports in budget preparation and compliance, aiding in operational and financial planning under the guidance of the Area Director of Nursing or Director of Operations. Also coordinates patient services across departments, ensuring seamless integration with pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement, and other internal and external areas.
Initiates procurement and ensures swift supply of medical equipment within budget limits. Additionally, engages in analyzing and reporting nursing operations and financials to leadership, fostering the creation of process enhancements.
Gathers and arranges patient-specific details to assess home care eligibility under Option Care policies, confirming if the medical condition and therapy align with home care standards. Also, conducts ongoing training for healthcare professionals on home infusion services, including competency and orientation programs.
Manages and shares on-call duties for the nursing department, collaborates with the Director of Pharmacy on patient care coordination, and develops a clinical network for the agency, serving as an essential clinical resource.
Education and/or Experience: Licensed Nurse (RN)
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization in the business community and with vendors.
Experience applying knowledge of standard practices for all services offered as well as current relevant and applicable standards (i.e. Joint Commission Standards, ACHC standards).
Has experience in delivering customer service to both internal and external clients, ensuring service quality meets standards and evaluating customer satisfaction to guide service improvements.
Basic PC skills: Able to competently use internet, email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Brings expertise in spotting operational challenges and actively suggests and applies solutions to refine and optimize processes.
Requires reliable transportation for travel to care facilities, home visits, and hospitals. Additionally, using a personal vehicle mandates a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Able to plan, organize and make presentations.
