Leads the nursing department’s director in managing activities, ensuring the nursing team completes scheduling and administrative tasks promptly.
Complies with requirements of the Company and ensures that services are provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and agency policy.
Applies and interprets agency policies, also supervises the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff to ensure quality and compliance.
Directs staff supervision and patient care evaluation, additionally oversees HR concerns for nursing, including hiring, evaluations, discipline, and terminations, ensuring a cohesive and compliant department.
Ensures compliance with guidelines, collaborates as office administrator with the pharmacy manager when necessary, fulfills Medicare’s Administrator or Director of Nursing role, and oversees infection control practices to meet regulatory standards.
Leadership and Development
Ensures that all nurses providing care maintain the professional standards of nursing practice.
Assists the Area Director of Nursing and/or Director of Operations in preparing, securing approval for, and implementing operating and expenditure budgets for department, and operates within those guidelines.
Responsible for the coordination of patient services with the pharmacy, delivery, reimbursement, and other departments both internally and externally.
Establishing and managing the procurement and expedited delivery of medical supplies and equipment within budget limits, while also engaging in the assessment, management, and reporting of nursing operational and financial data to key stakeholders. This involves analyzing trends and developing process improvement plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
Gathering and organizing patient-specific data to evaluate home care suitability aligns with Option Care policies. This process confirms that the patient’s condition and therapy fit home care criteria. Additionally, it involves offering ongoing education on home infusion care to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, including competency and orientation programs, to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
The role involves coordinating and engaging in the nursing department’s on-call duties, collaborating closely with the Director of Pharmacy to ensure patient care and service alignment. It also includes promoting a clinical network for the agency and serving as a pivotal clinical resource.
Education and/or Experience: Licensed Nurse (RN)
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization in the business community and with vendors.
Experience applying knowledge of standard practices for all services offered as well as current relevant and applicable standards (i.e. Joint Commission Standards, ACHC standards).
Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards of services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Basic PC skills: Able to competently use internet, email, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve and improve processes.
Access to a reliable means of transportation which will enable the incumbents to travel to care facilities, home visits and multiple hospitals. If such means of transportation would include a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance would be required.
Able to plan, organize and make presentations.
